7. Regulatory Status and Licensing References

7.1 “Clapp” is a brand name used by several companies of the Clapp group. References on this website to registrations or licenses apply only to the specific legal entity that holds them and only to the specific activities they cover. They do not imply that all products, features or services described on this website are regulated, licensed, approved, endorsed or supervised in your jurisdiction. The Licenses and Registrations page lists which company holds which registration.

7.2 Clapp Finance Limited is registered with FINTRAC (Canada) as a money services business. This registration is an anti-money laundering registration; it does not mean that FINTRAC endorses or approves any product or service. Clapp S.A. de C.V. is a registered Bitcoin Service Provider with the Central Reserve Bank of El Salvador; this registration covers bitcoin services only. No Clapp group company currently holds a crypto-asset service provider (CASP) authorization under Regulation (EU) 2023/1114 (MiCA) or a registration with the UK Financial Conduct Authority. Regulators do not approve or endorse commercial products.

7.3 Where we state that an authorization or registration is being sought or is in process, it has not been granted, and no rights derive from it, unless and until we expressly confirm approval.

7.4 Savings and Credit Line products are lending arrangements provided by Clapp Finance Limited. They are not deposits, they are not covered by any deposit guarantee or investor compensation scheme, and they are not within the service categories covered by the FINTRAC money services business registration. No registration or license attaches to these products.

8. Limits on Exclusions of Liability

8.1 Nothing in this disclaimer excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law, including liability for death or personal injury resulting from negligence or for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.
