Borrow Against Your Bitcoin Treasury, Keep the Position

What Is a Bitcoin Treasury?

What a Treasury Credit Line Gives You
Exposure Stays Intact
The BTC you pledge is not sold. Once the line is repaid, your full BTC amount comes back to your wallet, whatever the price did in between.
Liquidity on Your Timetable
Draw euros or stablecoins when an expense lands and repay when revenue arrives. Interest runs only on the amount drawn.
Mixed Treasury, One Line
Pledge BTC on its own or together with ETH, stablecoins and selected altcoins. The credit desk sets one LTV for the whole basket.
Rate Follows Your Risk
Keep the LTV conservative or add stablecoins to the basket, and the credit desk can price the line lower.
Institutional Custody
Pledged assets are held with institutional custody secured by Fireblocks and its multi-party computation technology.
An Answer Within a Day
Send your treasury mix and the amount you need. The credit desk comes back with a proposed structure within 24 hours.
Operating costs
Cover payroll, suppliers and infrastructure in euros while the BTC reserve stays in place.
Timing gaps
Bridge the weeks between paying for a project and getting paid for it, then repay from the incoming revenue.
Fund allocations and redemptions
Funds can meet a redemption or take a new position without selling core holdings at a bad moment.
From Treasury to Liquidity in Three Steps

1. Share your treasury mix
Tell the credit desk which assets you hold, how much you plan to pledge and how much liquidity you need.
2. Agree the structure
Within 24 hours you receive a term sheet with the limit, the rate and the LTV for your basket.
3. Verify and receive funds
After KYC/KYB the line opens, and funds typically reach you the same business day in EUR via SEPA Instant or in stablecoins.
Selling Treasury BTC vs Borrowing Against It
| Question | Selling BTC | Credit line against BTC |
|---|---|---|
| Your BTC position | Shrinks by the amount sold | Comes back in full once the line is repaid |
| When you get cash | Once, at the price of the day you sell | Whenever you draw, up to the agreed limit |
| What it costs | The upside you give up if the price rises later | Interest on the amount you actually draw |
| Getting back to the start | Buy BTC again at a future price | Repay the line and the collateral returns to your wallet |
| Main risk | Selling just before a rally | A falling price raises the LTV, so you may need to add collateral |
Estimate Your Credit Line
The calculator runs on the standard terms of the credit line in the Clapp app. A corporate line is priced individually, so use it as a first estimate of the limit your BTC can back.

Treasury Financing FAQ
What is a Bitcoin treasury?
It is the part of a company's or fund's reserves held in Bitcoin rather than in cash, usually as a long-term asset. Because the coins are meant to stay on the balance sheet, treasury teams look for ways to fund day-to-day costs without selling them.
Can a company borrow against its Bitcoin treasury?
Yes. Clapp opens corporate credit lines against BTC and other crypto held by companies and funds, from €50,000 equivalent. The treasury is pledged as collateral and the company draws euros or stablecoins as needed.
What is crypto treasury financing?
Treasury financing means raising liquidity against the digital assets a business already holds instead of selling them. In practice it is a credit line secured by the treasury, with a limit set by the value and mix of the pledged assets.
How much can we borrow against our treasury?
The limit depends on the assets you pledge and the LTV agreed with the credit desk. Liquid collateral such as BTC and stablecoins supports a higher limit and a lower rate. The calculator gives a first estimate, and your term sheet sets the final figures.
Can a fund use its holdings as collateral?
Yes. Funds use a credit line to meet redemptions or take new positions while core holdings stay invested. Diversified portfolios of top 50 assets by market cap can be underwritten after review.
Where is the pledged treasury held?
With institutional custody secured by Fireblocks, which uses multi-party computation (MPC) so that there is no single point of failure.
