Why a Stellar-Backed Credit Line

XLM is the native asset of the Stellar network, built for payments. A credit line secured by it turns the XLM you already hold into spendable euros or stablecoins, on terms that follow your own loan-to-value ratio.

  • Cash without a sale

Selling XLM ends your position; borrowing against it does not. Draw what you need now and get the coins back once you repay.

  • 0% APR up to 20% LTV

The less of your limit you use, the less you pay: up to 20% LTV the APR is 0%, and every higher step is visible in the app before you draw.

  • A limit you can keep in reserve

Open the line once and leave it ready. You pay interest on the drawn balance alone, so an unused limit costs you nothing while it waits.

  • Repay when it suits you

No monthly instalments: repay in parts as cash comes in, clear the whole balance at once, or settle it from the collateral itself.

  • Euros by SEPA Instant

Choose EUR and it goes to your bank account in seconds via SEPA Instant, or pick USDT or USDC for your Clapp wallet.

  • One line, several assets

Post BTC, stablecoins or other accepted assets next to your XLM to lift your limit or lower your LTV.

What Stellar is

XLM, or Stellar Lumens, is the native asset of the Stellar network, built for quick payments and the issuance of digital currencies.

Stellar as collateral

Stellar is one of the older payment networks in crypto; XLM is widely listed and tends to move together with other payment-focused coins.

Getting a Stellar Loan in Three Steps

Three steps from XLM in your wallet to euros in your bank account.

1. Deposit XLM and set it as collateral

Send XLM to your Clapp wallet, then pick the amount that will back your credit line. You can top it up later.

2. Your limit appears

Based on the live XLM price and an LTV cap of 30%, your available credit shows up straight away. Draw only what you need.

3. Spend and pay back

Send euros to your bank via SEPA Instant or take stablecoins, repay in your own time, and get your XLM back in your wallet when the balance reaches zero.

Stellar Price Down: What Changes for Your Loan

A rising LTV, and two ways to lower it

XLM often follows the same news cycle as other payment coins, so moves in that group can lift or drag its price together. Loan-to-value is the ratio between what you have drawn and the current value of your XLM. When XLM falls, the same balance becomes a bigger share of the collateral and your LTV rises; you see this in the app in real time. You have two levers at any moment: add collateral, XLM or another supported asset, or repay part of the balance. Both bring the ratio back down. Only if the LTV reaches the liquidation threshold shown in your dashboard is part of the collateral sold to cover the balance, so the room between your current LTV and that threshold is the buffer you manage.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • How much can I borrow against Stellar?

Stellar is accepted as collateral at up to 30% LTV, so your available credit is a share of the current market value of the XLM you post. The calculator on this page shows the exact figure for your amount, and the limit moves with the live XLM price while the line is open.

  • Can I borrow against Stellar Lumens?

Yes. XLM can back a Clapp credit line, and up to 30% of its value turns into credit you can take as euros or stablecoins.

  • What is the interest rate on a Stellar-backed credit line?

The APR depends on how much of your limit you actually use: the range is 0–21.9%. Keep your LTV at or below 20% and the drawn balance costs 0% APR. Interest accrues only on the amount you have drawn, so an open but unused line costs nothing.

  • Do I have to sell my Stellar to get cash?

No. That is the point of borrowing against it: you draw euros or stablecoins while your XLM stays posted as collateral. When you repay, the XLM is back in your wallet.

  • Can a XLM price drop affect my credit line?

The ratio between your balance and your collateral climbs. You can lower it straight away with more collateral or a partial repayment, and nothing is sold unless the LTV reaches the liquidation threshold shown in your dashboard.

  • Can I draw euros to my bank account against XLM?

Yes. EUR goes to your bank account via SEPA Instant, usually within seconds, and you can draw again whenever there is room under your limit.
